I'm planning organizing an informal jam for those seriously interested in joining Moebius Cat project, tentatively Sunday, May 6-th, but the date may change. I hope to prepare a couple of ideas and a few inspirational drum/percussion loops to play to if we won't have a drummer at that point. The goal is to meet each other, jam together, see what and how people play, how people fit together (or not), what every person can bring to the project, and generally formulate opinions about people and discuss future plans.
Please subscribe to the Moebius Cat mailing list on the following page: http://www.moebiuscat.com/mailman/listin
All discussions about this and further jams, and all Moebius Cat affairs, will be held on that list. You can unsubscribe at any time and no other emails outside of Moebius Cat -relevant topics will be sent.
In case of any technical problems with the list, please comment here or email me directly.
Now that life has somewhat normalized after having a baby, I'm planning to finally get back to making music :-) This post is for friends, musicians, friends who are musicians and friends who know good musicians :-)
I'm looking for a good vocslist (great voice, no accent in English), lyricist (English), and musicians - namely any of the following instrumens: violin, cello, oboe, flute, electric or acoustic base, electric and acoustic guitar, drums and percussion, any folk instruments etc. Anyone intersted - let me know. The aim is to first record a few songs and sketches I have at the moment in my recording studio, and then if all goes well create a live band and do some performing and recording. Style might be described as something like electro-acoustic progressive dark-folk fusion with gothic and neo-classical influences :-)
Most of you heard this song, I'm just giving it as an example of what a finished song recorded in my studio sounds like: http://www.moebiuscat.com/Ive_Been_Losin
Here are several sketches (some very rough ideas) of things that I plan to record. Of course when I have enough good musicians for a band, music will be written especially for those musicians. All sketches are with my vocal (that needs to be replaced with something batter) and most instruments are synth and sampler instruments that need to be replaced (and in some cases already are recorded) with live instruments. Note that style of the live band may (and will) differ somewhat from these sketches. It would be more acoustic, less detached, probably more rythm and progressive elements, the goal is to make interesting music. For those with good imagination - look at number 6, imagine English lyrics, more instruments, some solo acoustic parts (violin or woodwinds), fuller sound and good vocal :-)

6. Rybayat (extremely rough sketch). this is a super-rough sketch of a song in Russian :-) I've done it for a small acoustic band we've created for Russian festival last summer (Acoustic base, 12-string guitar, classical guitar, I played djembe and sung some songs). The lyrics is selected Rubayat (Omar Khayam), so there is an English translation as well, although it's a bit archaic. There are hundreds of them, so we can select the ones that sound best. It might come out quite nice. http://www.romandesign.ca/moebiuscat/Rub
7. Light (extremely rough sketch). http://www.romandesign.ca/moebiuscat/Sve
